Here is one poem that helps teach culture and also grammatical structure.
An Oba
I’d like to be an Oba
And wear a crown of beads,
And whisk a long, soft cow tail
And do grand and noble deeds.
I’d like to be an Oba
And sit upon a throne,
I’d like to take as many wives
AS I wanted, for my own,
I’d like to be an Oba
And have chiefs, old and grey
Prostrate and kneel before me.
(Well if only for a day)
I’d like to be an Oba,
But I can’t really see
That it would ever happen.
But who knows, it might- maybe.
